About my ships and OTP (mostly Hannigram)

Hi guys!

So I know my semester is over and the things I post won't be counted for my grade but the blog isn't just for university, it's something personal (for me at least) and it is about me and my passions. AND if it doesn't count I don't have to make it THAT long. So today I am going to share a relatively new passion with you!

I know this sounds awkward but I have finished watching Hannibal now (2 seasons in 4 days...forever alone...) and I have a second OTP after Johnlock now - Hannigram.

Now I know to someone who isn't using tumblr or isn't confronted with stuff like this it sounds strange so I will have to explain. OTP = official true pairing. Basically the people you ship together the MOST. Shipping = this is kind of awkward because this is something creepy and stalkerish. If you ship someone you want the people to be together at any costs, you watch the show 99999 times (or play the videogame or whatever you ship) and even make conspiracies with other people. So the people I ship are John Watson and Sherlock Holmes and Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter (in the TV shows at least). I already wrote about Johnlock so now I'm gonna write about Hannigram. Yes, the ships have names. Mostly consisting of parts of the people's names or their traits (like Frostiron for example = Loki and Iron Man, but that's a different story...).

As to why I ship Hannigram: they are perfect. Basically two psychopaths opening up to each other and even the makers and actors say it was meant to be bromance between the two characters. Hannibal is in my opinion both a psychopath and a sociopath, which makes it even more interesting because he finally found a friend in Will Graham. A friend who thinks reeeeally similar to him, he even [SPOILER] becomes a killer like him and decides to eat people with him. But Will lied to Hannibal and the FBI. Actually, it's not even clear which side Will was on so I am really looking forward to the next series, which Hannigram shippers made possible. Yes, the shippers and fangirls helped to renew series 2 (because the shitty TV people can't understand and handle Hannibal) and also made series 3 possible, which is airing by the end of 2014 or early 2015.

[SPOILER ALERT]

So Will hated Hannibal and wanted to betray him, possibly, but the guys were really good friends and even wanted to run away together, build a new life and be friends forever (...or hopefully more...). But Hannibal found out that the only person he trusted was lying to him so at the end of series 2 he basically massacred every main character in the show, including Will, and ran away on its own. Okay, with someone else actually but I don't know how to handle this right now so I'll just say on its own because without Will. It isn't clear who is going to survive Hannibals party but Will certainly will, according to the makers of the show.

This is not fan made. This is straight from the show. I repeat. THIS IS THEIR RELATIONSHIP!!!!

The relationship between Will and Hannibal is extremely interesting and even unclear, but almost everyone watching this show ships them like FedEx. So I made those two videos (ON MY OWN!! PRAISE ME!!!) to cope with my emotions. And I must say, even if fangirling is exaggerrated, those two videos sum up their relationship. And I felt like the songs fit PERFECTLY!!!

And the second one I have uploaded 20 minutes ago so I will edit this post later to embed the video in this post. Right now it's just too early for the lameness called YouTube so I will just post the link. But it's better than the first one, more Hannigram in my opinion, and I wasn't editing till 4 AM so I wasn't exhausted and it turned out better.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_FYec3NGKk

Dis is it. Watch it if you're intrigued. I would appreciate everyone watching it, seriously...I would love you..

So yeah, this is my short Hannigram appreciation post, also explaining the basics of tumblr slang. I hope you liked it!

Kingdom Hearts, the game that formed friendships

Hi guys!

Phew, my last post for this semester. I can't believe I actually managed to write 10 posts with the stress and health problems I had this time...applause please.

So I hope this post isn't going to be as long as the other ones, I don't want to bore you. I'm going to write about a videogame! It's huge almost everywhere and most gamers know it or have at least heard about it. It's Kingdom Hearts!

Kingdom Hearts is an RPG (role playing game, for noobs) in which you are a boy, Sora, who lives on a small island. His best friends, Riku and Kairi, are as adventurous as he is and the three of them want to run away and explore other worlds. So they build a raft and want to head off but in the night before a huge storm is coming up. The island is shrowded in darkness and Sora heads out to check out if the rafts they built are still okay. But strange creatures kind of appear out of darkness and Sora is confused. It seems then that he has a strange power, because a key-looking sword appears in his hands to fight off the dark creatures. Well, actually it looks more like a club but okay, let's call it keyblade so it sounds cooler. That must have been what the makers thought.

So Sora fights with this cool new shiny keyblade but after he defeats the final boss on his island (well, actually you have to kill him not Sora) he faints and wakes up in a different place separated from his best friends. And now was the time to freak out for me because this game combines a great original story, Disney worlds and characters (LOTS OF THEM!!!) and also characters from another videogame series, Final Fantasy, which I am going to blog about sometime. I just have to. And another important fact is that his fighting companions are Donald Duck and Goofy. So yeah, their awkward battle cries can get pretty annoying but it's fun if one of them messes up and dies. I am so evil.

For me this game seemed perfect. There is a lot to explore while following the goofy story, which I am not sure was designed to be played by adults (as if I'm an adult...ha...). Every world you travel to is different. So one moment you saved Alice in Wonderland from the mean Heartless (that's what the creatures are called. They have no hearts and consume the hearts of other people) and the next
moment you're in the jungle, jumping around on those ropes to find Tarzan. It's really fun!!

Don't watch the whole thing, it's just for you to get the idea how the game works.

But the original story of Kingdom Hearts evolves around Sora looking for his best friends and having to defeat the darkness, bringing peace to the worlds.
Actually, Kingdom Hearts has A LOT of sequels and one prequel, but I won't go into detail there because the seemingly simple story of the first Kingdom Hearts gets more and more complicated so I think I will write a post about an other installment in the franchise an other time. My favorite is Kingdom Hearts II because through this game I became friends with the person who is my best friend for 7 years now so this whole franchise means a lot to me.

Well, to sum up, this game provides a huge amount of fun but is also pretty long for people who aren't used to playing RPGs, around 30-40 hours if you really rush through it without levelling and grinding. But for me it was not too long, there are games out there with approximately 200 hrs of playing time so Kingdom Hearts is still reasonable and even kids can play it. At least the first Kingdom Hearts.

Watch this trailer and you'll know what this game is about ;)

So if you decide to play this you should have a PS3, where the first Kingdom Hearts was remastered in HD with an other game of the installment on just one disc, also including a 3 and a half hour movie of a third game. But if you want to play the original, you only require a PS2. (*cougcough or an emulator coughcough*). No seriously kids. Play legal games, don't download illegal stuff. It's prettier to have a cool box with this game in there than having the game on the computer without evidence of having it...I don't know maybe it's just me but I love collecting this stuff.

So guys, Kingdom Hearts is a great game and okay, the story isn't that thrilling but it's fun to play and can be quite challenging from time to time! So check it out or watch some trailers I don't know..

Thanks for reading!!

The last royal family in Russia. And brutal murder.

Hi guys!

Today I'm going to write something about history. Yes, you read it right. Me talking about history. Crazy stuff. But this topic really interests me since I was a kid and I feel kind of connected to the people I'm going to write about.

So my topic today is gonna be the last of the Romanov family, the last Tsar of Russia with his wife and kids. As you might know, they were brutally murdered and Russia changed forever. Well, okay, by then people were mostly farmers or lived in really bad conditions, but it was safe to live in the country while the Tsar was around.

Nicholas II was a very kind person, a bit stubborn sometimes, but he built hospitals for the poor and sick just to help people. He also fought in the First World War, together with other soldiers, who were just ordinary people. He could have died any moment by protecting the home country. That made him actually really popular as a person! But there were a lot of people rebelling against him.

You know Lenin? Of course you do. He was the leader of many rebellions against the Tsar and kind of ruled the country after Nicholas was murdered. No one elected him, he just said "yo, I'm gonna rule the country now" and people loved him. So why did people rebel against the Tsar? Mainly because he was too rich and the people didn't have enough money. Yes, it is a problem, but I think it doesn't matter whether you're a Tsar or not, the ruler is always going to be wealthier than anyone else. But people thought they could change that.

So one time there was a huge demonstration in 1905 in front of the winter palace of Nicholas II. Thousands of people came to protest against the monarchy and the war. It just kind of happened that people started getting nasty and the guards had to shoot into the crowd to drive them away, to protect the Tsar (otherwise they really could have killed him). After that they called Nicholas "the bloody" because they thought HE ordered the guards to kill innocent people, although he would never do this.

I'm going to tell you something about the family now. Nicholas married the granddaughter of Queen Victoria, Alix, who converted to the orthodox church to be able to marry Nicholas. And she changed her name to Alexandra Fedorovna Romanova. They really loved each other. Isn't this cute.
They had 5 children together, Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia and Alexei.

Alexei was the last child to be born, after they tried hard to give birth to a boy who could reign the country after his father. But there was one problem. Alexei had hemophilia. As you might know, hemophilia is a cruel sickness which was passed on by women in the royal families. It started in England and spread over the world. So if you have hemophilia one of your ancestors was related to Queen Victoria, because she is supposed to be the first to have the genes for this sickness.

So Alexei suffered a lot. He couldn't lead a normal life because while normal kids would have bruises, he would have died of internal bleeding. The family didn't tell anyone publically that Alexei is sick. There were times where he wasn't able to walk or where he sufferd so much he could neither stay awake nor pass off. The family already thought he would die soon when Rasputin appeared (I don't know how...?) and seemingly healed him. At least he wasn't as much in pain.

So Rasputin is a different chapter in their lives. He was no one. He helped out at church and said he was a healer and monk, kind of, but as much as I know he wasn't. He had a really bad reputation and some of the rumours were real. He called her majesty Alexandra by name, which was disgusting for this time, and he had harems in his flat at home. Women thought if they would participate in his "fun times" they would be important and famous. He was a friend of the royals after all. But I don't know if all of it is true, the Tsar and his family really loved him and trusted him, it's just that the other people didn't trust him.

1916 Rasputin was brutally murdered. Why? The media spread rumours that he and Alexandra had plans of betraying Russia. People's hate was rising more and more, leading to the February Revolution. But, as I said, first, Rasputin was killed. Even worse, by relatives of Nicholas (I don't know all the names but Prince Yusupov was one of them). He was poisoned first but it didn't react with his body. Then, Plan B, he was shot. But yes, he survived this as well and crawled outside just to be shot and hit severly again. Prince Yusupov was shocked about what he just did and decided, with some other people, it would be best to drown the body. But they didn't attach any weights so the body didn't drown eventually and was found soon after, completely frozen because it was winter and the water was cold (genius). So yes, this is almost making me cry. WHO THE HELL would do this to another person?! But it got worse...

So 1917 the February Revolution kicked off. People hated everything and wanted the Tsar to leave (which in my opinion is absurd because the others didn't know how to rule a country and this led to the ruin of russia but that's just what I think). After the extreme pressure Nicholas decided to abdicate. After this, the family was held under arrest in a house, where they were watched constantly. Nicholas wrote diaries and it's really interesting to read if you've ever got the time.

So in 1918 the whole family was killed. They didn't know they would be, they were woken up in the middle of the night and had to go into the basement. Some people say they were told they had to take a photograph, others say they have been told that it's safer in the basement because of someone bombing the city (which wasn't true anyway). There was nothing to sit on in the room and Alexei was in a very bad state, not being able to walk or stand, so Nicholas asked for a chair where he sit down with his son on his lap. The "soldiers" or whatever these men were read their death sentence and the last thing Nicholas said was like: "What?" and then they were shot. Everyone. Even their maids and dogs. Most died instantly, but Alexei and Tatiana almost managed to escape. But no, they didn't...The family was brought away, burned and buried so no one could find him. Only in 1991 they were found and buried properly. Today they are also saints and martyrs in the Russian-orthodox church.

I don't know, no matter what I write about, the War or other cruel things, I never cried while just reading about it. But I don't know, there is something connecting me with this family. Maybe I'm a reborn governess or something like this. XD
But no, seriously, I'm not easily interested in historical stuff but I absolutely love this family for no reason at all. Maybe it's because I grew up with the movie "Anastasia" and they are a part of my favourite video game but that wouldn't explain why it's fascinating me SO MUCH!!!

Oh gosh, sorry for this huge essay, I didn't mean to write so much about them. It just kind of happened...

Thanks for reading!!

Bye~

PS: uhm...I just noticed my blog is all about murder...kind of...sorry

PPS: OMIGOSH I just found an upcoming movie about Rasputin played by Leonardo Dicaprio!! Let's hope he'll finally get an oscar for that.

Introducing Hannibal, the best cook ever

Hi guys!

I didn't mean to write about it that soon but I'm going to just give it a shot and write my usual fangirling stuff again. So 2 days ago I have started watching a new series and am totally hooked. I don't even know why, it's just too perfect for me. Usually, it takes some time for me to start liking something as much as I like it now...

The show is called Hannibal, yes, Hannibal the cannibal (YEAS I always wanted to write this). It is similar to other crime shows, a new crime to solve (almost) each episode. But it's different from, for example, the CSI series. It's with Hannibal. You may know the story behind Hannibal but I have never watched the movies or read the books. I wasn't scared of it, I just didn't really care, but this show is like a drug. If you know the story of Hannibal you can skip reading the next part, but I don't know whether it's exactly like this in the movies or in the book.

This sums everything up pretty well

Actually, the protagonist isn't Hannibal but Will Graham. Will is a man who is able to feel and think himself into murderers after examining a crime scene. He is an agent of the FBI but is also teaching the people who want to become FBI agents as him. The show starts off with a serial murder case, in which several similar looking girls have disappeared. The FBI asks Will Graham to help them find the culprit but his boss and friend Jack is worried about his mental health (imagining you are the murderer and killing the people brutally will eventually drive you mad, you know..) so he introduces him to a psychiatrist, Hannibal Lecter.

Hannibal seems like a very reserved and intelligent person, but something about him makes the viewers of the show shiver. He is too “perfect” and calm, his face and body like resembling a statue. The FBI trusts him and hires him as Will's psychiatrist. Will hates psychiatrists so he pretends to just talk to him, like a friend. Over time, they really start to like each other, but Will's condition is getting worse because of all the brutal murders he has to examine over the next time. Also, Hannibal seems to make friends easily, because he loves to have people over for dinner. And he is a great cook, I'm not even kidding. Everyone is in love with his food, but no one knows what, or WHO he is eating...

The atmosphere in this show is incredible. I have never watched a flawless show but I think the atmosphere makes the timeless story of Hannibal even more perfect, making it one of the most popular shows in America. The music is perfect. There is no real soundtrack, just sound effects and classical music. Just imagine a scene where the cold-faced and highly intelligent Hannibal is eating his five-star menu with Chopin or Bach playing in the background. And you know exactly what he is eating. Ugh it gives me the shivers...

This is just a little taste of the show. And if this isn't making you puke you can watch it, I guess.

So yes, if you don't like creepy and macabre stuff you shouldn't watch it. But the show has won so many awards for the best drama that you almost have to give it a try. Sometimes I just have to look away because the scenes just seem too much, people murdered brutally, often stabbed multiple times, Hannibal eating human organs...it's hard to watch and I read a critic writing: sometimes the show is a physical pain. And yes it is. But it's too good to stop, dragging you in more and more so you can't stop watching.

I mean, I can tell you a lot about the show already, after watching it for 2 days, roughly said, and halfway through series one. So if I were you, I would watch it. But only if you can handle the huge amount of gore and drama.

I must sound like a creepy person now. I'M NOT!!! It's just really interesting and good...

KGP topics and Culture Days!

Hi guys!

So we had those culture days in university. Every person had to write 800 words on a specific topic concerning American or Irish culture. I wrote about illegal immigrants in the united states because I am an immigrant myself (although not illegal ;P). So it REALLY interested me and I learned a lot from the research I've done, although I haven't even scratched the surface on this topic. After writing the essay we had to prepare a presentation of maximum 8 minutes. Those presentations were held on monday and tuestay. We didn't only have to prepare our stuff, we also had to listen to at least 10 presentations of other people. Of those 10, we have to choose 5 topics for our huge oral exam, the KGP, and the teachers told us to write a blog about the presentations we went to, as well as the topics we choose for the KGP.

So I went to exactly 10 presentations because I simply didn't have the time to listen to more. I didn't really choose the topics which interested me the most, but I choose the ones I had time to attend to. But still I was happy with the choice of topics.

The first presentation I went to was on monday and the topic was same-sex marriage in the USA. Yes, I will TOTALLY choose this topic for my KGP! The presentation was great but the most important fact is that I am fighting for same-sex marriage and gay rights. I am not gay myself but I fight for love and respect so the facts the presenter, Miriam Egger, told us were really something I wanted to know for myself and it interested me a lot.

The second topic was Arab-americans after 9/11. I enjoyed the whole presentation. It was done really well and was also very interesting for me to listen to because it was quite similar to my topic. Illegal immigrants are discriminated against as much as Arab-americans and they face similar struggles in the United States. I learned some shocking facts in this presentation! Like, a guy wasn't allowed to travel by plane just because he had something printed on his shirt which was in Arab?! THAT'S CRAZY, PEOPLE!! And yes, I will also choose this topic for the KGP because I loved it.

The third presentation was about American Indian boarding schools. It really shocked me how the schools were really almost concentration camps where children suffered and weren't really educated. Nowadays it's different, of course, but it made me kind of angry...I want to take this topic for the KGP as well because I was a little obsessed with Indians when I was a kid.

The fourth presentation was about the KKK and the movie Missisipi Burning. I don't want to be mean but I couldn't concentrate during this presentation. The background was red and the pictures the presenter chose were mostly black and white, so it was quite distracting as well. Although it was hard for me to stay awake during this presentation, I love this topic so I choose to talk about it at the KGP as well.

I get goosebumps from looking at this picture. Ugh. They are like ghosts or devils or both.

The following 2 topics didn't catch my interest as the one's before. The topics were the Boston Tea Party and Ernest Hemingway. Both topics were more of a biography or a summary of historical facts, something I can't study at all, so I didn't choose them for the KGP, although both were done very well. I hope they won't take it personally...

Finally, the BEST presentation I ever attended to was Native American Languages. The presenter was my friend and I never would have guessed her talent in presenting for a group of people. Even our teacher loved it and laughed at her jokes and puns she made occasionally. Her way of presenting the topic was incredible and although it was as long as the other presentations, I really didn't feel the time pass. Also, it's the presentation I still remember the most information from. So this goes straight to the KGP!

The Irish presentations were great as well. We had to listen to 3 Irish presentations and 7 American ones. I attended to “The Conspiracies about the murder on Jean McConville”, “The popularised Leprechaun” and “Irish as an official EU language”. I loved all three of them because I learned a lot while listening to them. I had no idea who Jean McConville was before the presentation and also enjoyed the one on Leprechauns. I loved Leprechauns when I was a kid. Also, I think Irish is a very beautiful language and it makes me sad to know how few people still actually speak it...

So I'm going to sum up the topics I choose for KGP:

Native American Languages
American Indian Boarding Schoools
The KKK and Missisipi Burning
Arab-Americans after 9/11
Same-sex marriage

So yeah, this was a pretty long entry I had to write for university. I hope it's enough information..

Thank you for reading, if you did, and I'll post something new veery soon!

University stuff!

Hi guys!

Today I want to write about some difficulties I, personally, face in the university-life. I don't know if you feel or felt exactly like this in this period of your life but I'm just going to tell you what I struggle with or what I really like about it. Just describing stuff in my life in this post.

When I graduated from school it was like: “OH MY GOD, FINALLY I'M FREE!!” But nope. Many people said: “Just you look, university is going to be much easier than school. It will be the best time of your life so enjoy it!” Of course I enjoy it, I'm not the person to whine about something (as I wrote in my previous post), but it isn't as easy as everyone told me it would be.

One of the biggest problems is: it's NOTHING like school. You depend on yourself and no one else. I've got a huge problem with that because I'm not independent at all. I like people to tell me what to do, when to finish and how to do it exactly. I'm glad my subject at university is pretty much like this, but still there are those damn lectures I can't cope with. I can't just go somewhere, listen to someone talking for seemingly forever and study everything, with vague instructions on what might be an important point or not. It's not my way of studying. That's why I enjoy subjects like English and Russian. It feels like school, you are told what to do and what to study, but it's just a lot more than in any school subject. But hey, it's uni, it's what I choose to do so I hope I will handle it.

The second thing bothering me are the materials. I mean, in school it was easy. One or two books per subject and that's it, you know where to study from. In uni, it's not always like this. In Russian, for example, we don't have a book but we have to print out the materials, which are often put online just a few hours before the lessons. This is SO annoying! And also extremely expensive. Just imagine printing out the materials for every lesson, like 10-20 pages per lesson or week, depending on how much information is on those sheets. And classes are 4 times a week. Just IMAGINE the money spent on printing something you might never read again after class!! It's horrible! Personally, I don't have that much money. People say: “Oh, students never have any money”, “Students are always poor”, now let me tell you this, it's completely true.

The third thing making my life less enjoyable is the fact that I am sick most of the time in my life. I get sick every 2 weeks or so, having to stay in bed to get well again. The problem is, no one in uni cares (with exception of very nice teachers, thank you). Either you go to class or you don't. You are allowed to miss the obligatory courses 3 times (IN THE WHOLE SEMESTER!!!!) otherwise you'll not be allowed to take the exams. It's horrible because I simply can't change my health situation. Seriously, that's the main reason I wasn't blogging. I know I said I was just being lazy the whole time, but it actually isn't quite true. It's little things, really. One day I woke up and felt dizzy but it's okay, no big deal, can handle a dizziness. BUT NO! It lasted for fricking 4 weeks without stopping and even got worse. The doctors didn't find anything. Now explain your teachers why you weren't in class or why your homework sucks all of the sudden. “I felt dizzy for 4 weeks and don't have any proof?” Sure, they'll believe you.

rant over

And last but not least, the blogging. It's not boring or annoying, I actually enjoy blogging pretty much, but it's hard to keep up a blog while studying thousands of other things (and being sick, duh). It's also hard to get ideas for blogging and sometimes you have THE IDEA but then you sit there for hours and don't know where to start. So you just “meh” on it and tell yourself you're going to write it later. But nope, you won't. We all know you won't. (Speaking to myself through this right now. Shame on me!) And in the end you end up writing a blog like this one.

So yeah, this was my little cute rant about university life. But it doesn't consist just of negative things of course. It's just easier to write more about negative things than the positive ones. So if you read the whole thing, tell me your experience with uni and how it worked in the country you live in!

Thanks for reading!

Bye~

PS: sorry I didn't insert any pictures in this post. I just didn't find any which would fit to the "essay" I wrote. So I'll post a picture of a cute kitten for you here instead. yay. enjoy.

Just...talking about life and stuff

Hi guys!

Today's blog post is going to be kind of different than my usual posts. Okay, I don't have any “usual” posts but I consider my fangirling stuff my usual blog stuff. I guess the next ones will be a little bit different. It's just that I have to blog HELLA LOT by the end of next week. Yay for university! :D
#sarcasm

But I wanted to practice my writing anyway so I'm just going to write some random stuff. Today I'm going to write about life. Yes, nothing special, but the stuff I'm going to write about is very personal and is going to tell you something about my life.

Just because it fits listen to this while reading kay

I had an exam yesterday and it wasn't easy for many of us students. Most of them were already exhausted by the time they got to university. They were complaining and ranting and moaning about stuff and I thought any positivity they had kind of faded away. They didn't smile, they didn't laugh, they just sat there and moaned about their “crappy” lives. I understand that it's not easy and that university is stressful, but most of them were just depressed and exhausted, which made me kind of depressed as well. BUT! There are so many things in life besides of university problems, there are so many things to enjoy! Many people dwell in their problems and don't realise that they should also find some time to enjoy themselves, enjoy life.

I had one period in life, where I thought exactly like them. I was depressed, concentrated on the negative things in life and wasn't aware that life is so much more than duties and stress. I was really bad at school. I'll be honest, I was a slacker. I skipped school, I didn't study properly, I wasn't paying attention while being at school, it just didn't go quite well. I also believed in conspiracies concerning the end of the world, third world war and stuff like this so I lived in constant fear and depression. But one day I thought: WHY?! Why should I live like this and skip all the nice things in life just to worry about what will come next? I realised that life is more than worrying and complaining. It's beautiful.

Why is life beautiful? Just imagine: you are just one person. But you are important. Everyone is important!! (That's what Doctor Who teaches you, kids)
Every single person is different and could also make a difference to this world. Everyone thinks he is nothing because most people don't know the consequences of whatever they are doing or even that they live in the first place. Your mother thought the same. Your father thought the same. But still they changed the world by creating you! Every single life on this planet is a gift. If you ever feel stressed or have a lot of negative emotions inside you, look outside, or even better, go outside. Look up at the sky and imagine: there are thousands, no, millions of planets in our galaxy. There are millions of galaxies in the universe. And then imagine how little your problems are, the problems of one person on just one planet. Once you realise that your life and existence is much more than studying and working from day to day, doing the same stuff over and over again, you will see that it isn't worth the time to worry about things. Stay positive and live your life the way you want to live!

Of course there are things you can't just ignore or run away from. Like exams for example. But you can still enjoy your life and be proud of yourself. Just for being you, even for studying. You have the privilege of being offered a great education and it is supposed to be hard. But the hard work will pay off and you will see, how much you actually are capable of doing. So be proud of yourself and your life, because it's the only one you've got! (okay, it's not clear whether you've got one life or not but this is a different topic)

Another thing I notice more often is that people don't enjoy the little things in life. It's wonderful to come home and to see your food already prepared by your loving mother. It's wonderful to be called by your friends, even if you're in a bad mood. Why? Because those people spent time thinking about you. I don't understand how people complain that their mothers didn't make the food they like. Dude, the woman spent time of her precious life just so YOU can come home and don't have to bother about cooking! So stop whining and think this over again. Your friends call you because they think about you and care about you and if you're not nice to them, they won't! Your bad-mood-rants won't do anyone any good so just give the people who love you the same love back again.

It's also wonderful to see a pretty flower bloom and it's wonderful to listen to the birds singing. Why? Because it's magical. It's life many people take for granted. Imagine a world without flowers. Would be boring, right? And now look at that flower and listen to that birdie again. It's alive and it's special, it's beautiful.

Okay I just realised that the blog post didn't turn out as positive as I wanted it to be...but I did my best to explain the way I think to you and maybe it's better to really concentrate on the good things in life rather than on the downsides.

And remember: YOU are important. And I love you for reading my post, thanks. See? You made me happy, so you, just one person I probably don't really know, made a difference by reading it.

Never forget this and please, don't be negative or full of hatred. Just isn't worth it.

So yeah. This was a creepy little philosophical post with no point at all. I hope you enjoyed reading it and...well...this was a kind of awkward post. Next one could be better.

Who? Doctor Who!

Hi guys!

Today's blog entry is going to be about a TV show! (again)
This TV show is part of the British culture and has celebrated its 50th anniversary in December 2013. Yep, it's pretty old already, has TONS of episodes and an always changing main character. Can you guess this? No? It's Doctor Who!

Doctor Who TARDIS and the alien Dalek in London's airport. It's THAT popular.

So what is this “Doctor Who” show about? It's about a Time Lord, an alien race from the planet Gallifrey, who can travel through time and space and experiences lots of adventures with his, mostly human, companions. No one knows the name of this Time Lord, he just calls himself the “Doctor”. Unlike most science fiction shows and films, Doctor Who is not about making war and fight other creatures. Although it can be quite violent from time to time, it's not the purpose of the Doctor and the show.

The Doctor choose to take this “name” because while he is travelling and exploring new places, he is constantly helping others. His companions are lending him a hand and are very clever and funny most of the time. The Doctor doesn't have any weapons, he just has a sonic screwdriver, which is handy in many situations. He is a very odd person, always funny, mad and adventurous, but also extremely intelligent and sad at heart. His home planet, Gallifrey, was destroyed in a war from which he fled and therefore he is the last Time Lord alive. He travels in a time machine, called TARDIS (abbreviation for Time And Relative Dimensions in Space), which he stole on the day he fled from his planet. Yep, he is a mad man!

One huge part of the Doctor Who experience is his dying process. Time Lords live for a huge amount of time. The Doctor is approximately 900 years old, which isn't even too old for Time Lords. But the most interesting thing about this race is first: they've got two hearts, and second: they 're able to regenerate. Every time a Time Lord dies, he regenerates. His appearance and character traits change and only his past and memories remain the same.

The 11 Doctors and the 12th one, Peter Capaldi, coming November

To this day, there are 11 doctors, the 12th is coming in the new season starting November 2014. The Doctors are counted after their regenerations, so if the first Doctor regenerates, the moment there is the "new" Doctor, it is the second Doctor. The regeneration is one of the most dramatic, sad and touching moments in the whole series. The show itself is VERY sad, but also extremely funny and thrilling. It combines every good aspect of movies and shows you could imagine (except it's not erotic, thank god). Today it also has very good special effects and every single episode feels like a beautiful film, making you want to watch more.

Doctor Who was the first science fiction show on British TV. No one actually expected it to be so successful and so extremely long. The makers had few resources and the actors weren't actually the best but people loved it and were thrilled to see the new episodes. In the first stage of the show, the episodes were 20 minutes long and ended with a cliffhanger. The first episode was aired in 1963, which makes it almost 10 years older than Star Trek. There were few special effects, or almost even none. But the series evolved over time, forming a HUGE fanbase.

The most popular Doctors of all time: 10th (David Tennant) and 11th (Matt Smith)

The show aired from 1963 to 1989 with a short pause in 1984. After 1989 there were no episodes until 2005, where new episodes were produced and the show gained a whole new generation of whovians. From 2005, there is a clear line between the new and old Doctor Who style. The old episodes are called “Classic Who” and many episodes are “lost” now, because the BBC didn't record or save them. The “New Who” is extremely popular throughout the whole world and never disappoints the fans.

I would like to go on writing about the Doctor and the story of the show, but then the entry would never ever end.

So I hope you enjoyed reading about this show and if I managed to make you interested in it, you should definitely check it out! It's really worth watching.

Thanks for reading!!

Johnlock? Hell yes!

Hi guys!

I don't know what's wrong with me this semester but I really struggle to get any ideas what to write about. I wrote about the stuff I absolutely love and I don't really want to write a diary or a blog post no one will ever care about reading. But today I think I'll try to cover a topic which is not the usual blog topic. And I admit, I am kind of scared writing this because it makes me very emotional and might seem a bit wrong. A LOT actually. But it means a lot to me and I think I can write about this freely and just rant away again. So my topic for today is going to be the relationship between Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in the BBC series “Sherlock” (which I blogged about last semester).

the stare though...

There are so many couples on the television and most, or even all of them, are straight. A man and a woman, often meeting in a bar, having some drinks, talking and flirting with each other and going straight to bed. I am a person who detests these kind of relationships SO much I could blog just about them, but I won't torture you with this. But people love it and people watch it. They think it's normal because it happens every day. But what if male best friends actually had this tension between them which you just could NEVER unsee?

So, what makes a relationship tense? Long, deep stares at each other (even a bit too long), the accidental (or not so) touching of the hands or even holding them, the fear to lose each other, jealousy and disapproval towards anyone else the person is meeting, etc etc. Well, all of these things and much more happen to Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. It's really hard for people to understand the relationship, although the writers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss (who is actually married to a man) disapprove of the romantic theories. But how do you explain things like this:

Yeah, how do you explain these scenes?!

The dialogues are the most intriguing things in the show. Example:

Sherlock and John sitting in a restaurant, solving a case.
JOHN: You don't have a girlfriend, then?
SHERLOCK: Girlfriend? No, not really my area.
JOHN: Oh. Oh? Right. [pause] Do you have boyfriend? Which is fine by the way.
SHERLOCK: I know it's fine.
JOHN: So you've got a boyfriend?
SHERLOCK: No.
JOHN: Right. Okay. [licks lips] So you're unattached. Like me. Fine. Good.
It's a very awkward scene with a lot of staring and you can see how they are uncomfortable talking about it. Oh, but there is more!

Sherlock and John live together in the flat 221B on Baker Street. It's completely normal to share a flat with a friend. But as Sherlock becomes more and more popular rumours start spreading and even the newspapers are writing about him and John. Of course, they deny everything and maybe there IS nothing going on between them. Although, John tends to overreact about completely normal things. He uses the phrases “I am not gay”, “People might talk” and “I am NOT his date” way too often in the show. WAY too often, so it doesn't seem quite convincing. Also, there is one scene in the second season where [SPOILER] Irene Adler is talking to John alone:

John: “We're not a couple!!”
Irene: “Yes, you are”

John says nothing.

As if this doesn't make their feelings quite obvious I don't know what does. But there are a lot more things besides the dialogues. Throughout the show people find lots of hidden hints. #tjlc, a twitter hashtag meaning the johnlock conspiracy, is used by people more and more with many interesting and actually very funny ideas. Of course, some people go too far shipping them but if you've seen the show you will definitely know that there is something going on which is not said aloud. Even my rather conservative mother asked me whether they would come together while watching the first episode.

If you want to read more about this (which I highly doubt but meh), you can read some stuff on this website: http://vlyn.hubpages.com/hub/The-Johnlock-Conspiracy

Seriously. There is some REALLY cool stuff.

So yeah, this was what is called a desperate blog entry without any ideas left in my brain. I hope you enjoyed my fangirling.

Thanks for reading!
